Bob Mayer has been engaged in the general practice of law since 1976; he has tried both bench and jury trials in the state and federal courts of Illinois, Wisconsin and Michigan; briefed and argued cases in the Illinois Appellate Court, the Illinois Supreme Court, and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals; and chaired over two hundred arbitration hearings for the Cook County Mandatory Arbitration Program. Several of his cases have been reported in local and national publications.

In addition to his law practice, Bob Mayer is an accomplished athlete and coach. He was a member of the U.S. Junior National Wrestling Team and was the captain of University of Illinois Wrestling Team. Bob has played and coached soccer; and has coached several undefeated youth teams. He is currently competing as a triathlete; and during the 2004 and 2005 seasons, had eight top ten finishes; and was the 2005 Overall Champion at the Delavan Lake Supersprint Triathlon. He also renovates homes, and is an avid flyfisherman.
